Fuel Efficiency, Power, and Handling

The current Toyota RAV4 generation offers two powertrain options: A 2.5L Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine or a hybrid package with standard all-wheel drive. You get up to 203 horsepower with the former and 219 horsepower with the latter. The most fuel-efficient RAV4 grades with the gasoline engine are equipped with front-wheel drive; this configuration allows you to have a 35 mpg fuel economy on the highway. As for the hybrid powertrain, your fuel efficiency can be as high as 41 mpg, plus you get the all-wheel drive benefit.

The RAV4 grades with all-wheel drive come with the Toyota Multi-Terrain Select system, which has drive modes for Mud and Sand, Rock and Dirt, Snow, and Normal conditions. An eight-speed automatic transmission delivers smooth and responsive shifting. The hybrid RAV4 grades can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

Modern Design and Comfort

The current exterior styling of the RAV4 sports a ruggedly futuristic look. You have two-tone color options for a more personalized touch. LED headlights and taillights are standard, while fog lights and a power moonroof are optional.

Inside the RAV4, you will find a spacious cabin prioritizing comfort and utility. Both seating rows can be heated and ventilated in higher grades. You get a generous 39.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which you can fold to get a maximum of 69.8 cubic feet of storage.

Cutting-Edge Technology Features

When it comes to staying informed and entertained on the road, the RAV4 offers an intuitive infotainment system you can control through voice commands or a touchscreen. You can access some apps through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The base RAV4 comes with a crisp-sounding factory stereo, but higher grades come with a premium JBL audio system with a subwoofer and more speakers for immersive listening.

Smart Safety Features for Peace of Mind

Toyota engineers are fully invested in keeping you and your passengers safe; to this effect, the Safety Sense 2.5 suite of driver-assistance features comes standard in all RAV4 grades. Some of its functions include lane-keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, emergency braking, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control that works with the integrated navigation system is available in select grades.

Other automakers call them models or trims; Toyota calls them grades, and the RAV4 has 13 you can get. The starter grade is the RAV4 LE, which offers all-wheel drive as an option.
