4Runner Performance
Every 4Runner has the same engine under the hood: a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. The engine pairs with a five-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive. For additional traction on and off the road, you can upgrade to available four-wheel drive. When properly equipped, the 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
4Runner Design & Interior
While five seats come standard with the 4Runner, an available third row of seats boosts the maximum number of passengers to seven. When you need to transport your belongings, standard models have 47.2 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats and 89.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The 4Runner exterior is ready for off-roading and camping trips, with standard skid plates and roof rails.
Inside the cabin, the 4Runner has plenty of features for your comfort and convenience. A power-adjustable driver's seat is standard, while a power-adjustable front passenger seat is available. You can also upgrade the interior with available features like heated and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery.
4Runner Technology
An eight-inch touchscreen anchors the standard 4Runner infotainment system. Standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ make it easy to connect your smartphone to the infotainment setup, giving you access to your phone through the touchscreen. Eight speakers come standard, but music lovers might want to opt for the available 15-speaker JBL® premium audio system (which includes a subwoofer and amplifier).
4Runner Safety
It is important for you to have peace of mind the road in your 4Runner, which is why the SUV comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense. This suite of driver assistance features includes:

The 4Runner has seven trim levels for customers to consider:
SR5: Includes LED headlights, roof rails, skid plates, an eight-inch touchscreen, and Toyota Safety Sense.
TRD Sport: Builds on the SR5, adding an improved suspension, 20-inch wheels, a hood scoop, unique interior trim, synthetic leather upholstery, and heated front seats.
SR5 Premium: Builds on the SR5, with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
TRD Off-Road: Builds off the SR5, with standard four-wheel drive, multi-terrain modes, crawl control, and unique floor mats.
TRD Off-Road Premium: Builds off the TRD Off-Road, with heated power-adjustable front seats, SofTex upholstery, and integrated navigation.
Limited: Adds perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 15-speaker JBL premium audio system.
TRD Pro: Adds a TRD-tuned off-road suspension, a unique stamped front skid plate, Fox shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor.
