It’s been quite some time since we’ve talked about the Toyota Highlander, so today we wanted to take a closer look at the 2018 model’s specs & features to refresh your memory on some of the awesome things this midsize crossover has to offer.

The 2018 Highlander has two different engine options, one being the standard 2.7L 4-cylinder engine that achieves 22 miles per gallon combined while delivering 185 horsepower, or the available 3.5L V6 option that improves both power and efficiency as it delivers 295 horsepower while getting 24 mpg.
But in a utility vehicle like this, power and efficiency aren’t the only two performance specifications to consider. There’s also towing capacity, which can often come in handy for camping trips and other assorted adventures. The base Highlander LE can only haul 1,500 lbs., but upgrade to the SE or Limited and you can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
How much space you have very much depends on the trim level you opt for, at least in terms of passenger volume. In the base level, front-row passengers have 61.7 cu. ft. of space, second-row passengers have 52.8 cu. ft. and back row have 30.4 cu. ft. The rear-seat passengers have 30.4 cu. ft. regardless of trim level, but second-row passengers lose 0.9 cu. ft. of space moving up to the SE and Limited trims. The front row of the SE improves to 69.9 cu. ft however but upgrading to the Limited unfortunately loses 10 cu. ft. Cargo is the same across the board, with 13.8 cu. ft. behind the rear seats, 42.3 cu. ft. if you drop those seats, and 83.2 cu. ft. if you drop the middle row as well.
Performance and space are only scratching the surface of everything that the 2018 Toyota Highlander has to offer, so if you’d like to find out more don’t hesitate to give us a call or schedule a test drive and come experience the crossover for yourself.
