Summer has finally arrived in the Quad Cities and we’re getting excited to celebrate one of the season’s biggest holidays – the 4th of July. If you’re from the area, you probably know that there are plenty of fun things to do, so the difficult part is deciding exactly which event to partake in. If you’re curious about some of the larger events taking place in the Cities, look no further. We’ve compiled a list of a few of our favorites, so that you can begin your decision-making process.

Red, White and Boom! in Rock Island, IL and Davenport, IA

The Red, White and Boom! Festival is certainly an event to behold, as it offers one of the largest fireworks displays on the Mississippi River. On July 4, 2016, Schwiebert Riverfront Park (Rock Island) will have an array activities for the family to enjoy. On the Davenport side, festivities will begin at 5 p.m. Both events will be followed by a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. in the evening.

Bettendorf 4th of July Celebration

If you’re into food, live music and parades, then head down to the Bettendorf 4th of July Celebration! The event will be taking place on both July 3 and 4, 2016, and will offer plenty of activities. At dusk on the 4th of July, be sure to head down to Middle Park and watch the Quad City Parachute Team and fireworks display. Mississippi River Fireworks Display in East Moline

If you’re not looking to leave Moline on the 4th of July, it’s okay! In East Moline, there will be a fireworks display launching from The Quarter (at approximately 9 p.m.). Parking and shuttle services will begin at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be live music and plenty of activities for kids to enjoy. Food will also be available for purchase.
